On Tuesday, May 12th, Disability:IN Chicagoland, in partnership with CDW, hosted an online discussion on Supporting the Mental Health of Your Remote Workforce. We had about 100 attendees participate in this conversation led by Kasey Franco, Director of Training & Education, at the National Alliance on Mental Illness Chicago (NAMI) to share ideas and strategies to support mental wellness for yourself and your colleagues amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Topics included: helping employees care for their mental health while practicing social distancing; adjusting expectations while managing work and family at home; and supporting co-workers who may be experiencing depression or anxiety while working remotely.
Franco shared a template for a wellness plan as well as tips on when to connect with colleagues and how to be supportive to one another.
