Thresholds, a nonprofit agency, is one of the oldest and largest providers of recovery services for persons with mental illnesses and substance use disorders in Illinois. Since 1959, Thresholds has assisted people with mental illnesses to reclaim their lives and live independently. Thresholds offers 30 innovative programs throughout Chicago, the suburbs, and nine surrounding counties. Services include assertive outreach, case management, housing, education, psychiatry, primary care, substance use treatment, research and employment. Our Supported Employment Program is a cornerstone of Thresholds’ services – helping members live their lives with dignity, independence, and respect through competitive employment. For more information on how our Supported Employment services, contact George Terzakis at 312-852-3900 or [email protected].

Because the stigma and challenges around mental health can be a barrier to gaining or retaining meaningful employment, our Mental Health Awareness Workforce Training is available to employers. The training works to strengthen an organization’s capacity to better understand and manage the impact mental health issues can have on employees, their families and their productivity at work. Thresholds provides customized training around these topics to Chicagoland businesses. For more information on trainings, contact Adrienne Brown at 773-537-3256 or [email protected].
